Book Launch – 5th May!!
Please join me! Live performance, both to tracks and live musicians, plus the usual banter and bluster.
So, I’ve finally reached the finishing line. I set out to make this book so much more than the last – both with quantity and personalised touches – and I became quite determined not to cut any corners… to the point where I drove myself quite dotty editing, proofreading and redrawing illustrations that I wasn’t 100% happy with.
Much of it was written in Coffee Republic (they make a wonderful cappuccino) and they always cheered me up when I was flagging, so I was THRILLED when they offered me the upstairs to launch the book. It’ll be like home away from home. Honestly, I spend so much time there that even the Google Earth car captured me sitting by the window with my notepad and mug! I just need some people there to help me send the book on its way… please come!
If not, I shall see you at the Festival with my mini-amp and my bowler hat.

to finishing the book. I’m trying to concentrate, keep my head down and get it done for my self-imposed deadline. But one more illustration to share… the rest will have to be a surprise. Back soon, I promise!
Little Episodes at the Albert
Just a quick notice about tomorrow night when I’ll be performing… come along if you can! I’ll be taking my valentine postcards down if anyone wants a cheap (ie. free) card that makes a point 
Little Episodes continue their monthly residency at the Prince Albert. We’ll be bringing you the usual LE merriments including live bands, acoustic music, comedy, poetry + more. We’re still putting the final touches to the running order, so check back for regular updates.

Doodles for the new book (2)
So none of them are supposed to be taken too seriously (I am perfectly aware they are just doodles with oodles of just making my point) but sheesh, I am never going to attempt to replicate a JD bottle again. For JD connoisseurs everywhere I apologise for the artistic licence I have allowed myself in recreating it, haha. 
They’re storming along now… will be sticking to pen and ink this time as opposed to the photography and fine art stuff I used in addition last time. Probably. Maybe.

So, the new book, eh?
I have two new books underway. One is going to be a shorter book – a mix of poetry and short stories based on my home town of Brighton. I’m really very excited about it. I began by writing short stories many years ago and it was because of those being well received that I continued into poetry and writing my novel. These will include things like the Shoreham Tower being blown up and the day the West Pier burned down… as well as happier times eh, Brightonians? We’re so lucky to live where we do, I really want to get the balance right.
The other book is my second poetry collection, which is all done apart from the illustrations. Which brings me to the main point…
As before, I’ll be illustrating my new books and sheesh, I’m finding it hard to get into the swing again so can I ask you lovely people to nag me simply by coming to my website and taking a look, making sure I’ve posted a new illustration… shall we say one a week?
Maybe I’ll do a competition? Match the illustration to the poem (which will have to be from memory as they disappear from the blog) or short story and you’ll get a free copy of the book? Ahhh, but then I really will be under pressure, eh?

For those who don’t know, Legend picked up and published this in 2008. It had a following from its initial conception and daily postings on the writerscafe. Thoroughly disillusioned with the publishing pitfalls and pitiful royalties, Kiersty now self-publishes the title at a reduced price and as an e-book.
Set in a seaside town (a mixture of Worthing and Hove for those in the know) and introducing many of the colourful local characters, this book introduces Kate and Ern, showing us their unique love story. Ern is a street artist who creates amazing illusions and worlds with his pictures. Kate is just a girl, who’s trying to get by, in her own inimitable fashion, when she quite literally stumbles into his path.
